Get Involved in Local Advocacy

Christian nationalism is eroding the separation of church and state in school boards, city councils, and other local forms of government. One of the most effective ways to combat this ideology is by being involved in local advocacy and policymaking. Testify at school board meetings against policies that espouse Christian nationalism (ie. book bans, school chaplains, discrimination against religious minorities, erosion of truthful American history).

You can also make your support for religious freedom clear at the ballot box. Know who is running in your local races and support candidates who oppose Christian nationalism.

Your community needs your voice now more than ever.

Mobilize Your Church

A distinction of our campaign is our concern for the health and vitality of the Christian Church.  We recognize the threat Christian nationalism plays to our houses of worship and are grateful for the support of so many who are confronting and challenging these notions in their churches. Preach on Christian nationalism or ask your pastor to do so. Start a petition drive at your church to get more members to sign the Christians Against Christian Nationalism statement. Identify other churches in your area to partner with on collective action.

Bring Your Community Together

Often, people don’t speak up about Christian nationalism because they don’t know how to define it. But what if we could work together to understand it better? Host a panel, group conversation, or dinner night to educate the people in your community on what Christian nationalism is. Once people are educated, you can do something about it! Imagine how you could host a rally, organize for elections, and combat Christian nationalism in your local community.
