Support this work

Make a gift today and partner with us to end Christian nationalism. Your financial support helps us expand our reach and connect with advocates at every level, providing online trainings, physical resources, space for conversations and anything we can do to help others. We are creating change by raising awareness, equipping people for advocacy and bringing individuals together in local organizing groups.

The Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign is not possible without the support of people across the United States and around the world. You do not have to be a signer of the Christians Against Christian Nationalism statement or identify as a Christian to be part of our efforts to combat this ideology. The work involves one-on-one conversations, collective action in local communities, engagement with the national media and much more.

Three ways you can give

Donate now to end Christian nationalism

Financial support of our national campaign lets us build capacity and create resources for people to use nationwide. Gifts from people like you – no matter the size – are helping us:

  • Combat misinformation with vital information and resources available on this website, on social media and in churches across the country. We believe that informed conversations and constructive dialogue are essential for combating the misguided and misinformed narratives of Christian nationalism that undercut the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Build capacity of our staff, allowing us to connect with new people and provide resources and speakers to address issues that continue to arise. In 2024, we were able to hire our first national Community Partnership Manager, who is working with leaders in communities across the country.

  • Collaborate with people from other faith traditions and people of no faith tradition to address the harms caused by Christian nationalism, listening to and learning from them as they see the impact in different ways than we do within the Christian community.

  • Advocate boldly for policies that reject the conflation of religion and American citizenship on a nationwide level, and reminding those in power of their responsibility to serve all, not just those with their same faith tradition.

  • Create community in our private Facebook group to educate and encourage each other across the country in our collective fight against Christian nationalism.

I often feel overwhelmed by the political landscape, but BJC and Christians Against Christian Nationalism gave me something concrete to do. Thanks for empowering me to speak up!

Support the local organizing fund

We are working with people across the country to organize their communities to create collective action. We recognize that this battle is of utmost importance at the local level, and people who live in local communities can most clearly see the impact of Christian nationalism and know ways to combat it that work in their areas. Local groups can be regional, state-wide, county-wide, or community-wide – it all depends on who is ready to meet the need and what works best to bring people together. We are here to listen to communities and equip them for action, and  we created a dedicated fund to support these groups in their various stages of development.

    • Provide supplies for local groups, such as educational materials to share with houses of worship or elected leaders

    • Support group leaders with leadership development, troubleshooting, and idea generation that empowers them to lead well

    • Host workshops to equip people to become advocates in specific fights against Christian nationalism in their communities

    • Resource people for taking action, such as training people to offer public testimony at important hearings

    • Foster collaboration between local organizations doing similar work

I’m excited that more groups are forming across the country! BJC is assisting these groups in combating Christian nationalism within their communities, as we recognize that this battle is of utmost importance at the local level.

Support the North Texas coalition

In 2023, we launched our pilot project for a coalition in North Texas, encompassing the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. In this region particularly impacted by a proliferation of Christian nationalism, a community is growing and creating an impact. They are dedicated to raising awareness, advocating to their elected officials, and organizing for change.

In the first year alone, our North Texas Coalition

  • Hosted speakers, film screenings and conversations to better understand how Christian nationalism impacts their community.

  • Learned important strategies for effective organizing, including power mapping and having one-on-one conversations.

  • Created their first pastoral cohort to help faith leaders discern their political theology and develop a framework for deeper civic engagement.

  • Testified at school boards to raise concerns about school “chaplain” programs and the negative impact on religious freedom.

  • Partnered with groups across their area and the state to speak out against a harmful proposed curriculum in our public schools.

  • Trained hundreds of people to file public comments and helped dozens of people travel to Austin to testify before the Texas State Board of Education.

The North Texas Coalition is learning together how to build the Beloved Community, joining together with people from many different faiths to show what it means to have a pluralistic democracy and counter the impact of Christian nationalism. You can make a gift to directly support the work in North Texas, which will continue to grow. Give today!

BJC and Christians Against Christian Nationalism trained a large group of us to file public comments against a harmful proposed Bible-infused curriculum in our public schools. They helped us prepare and physically get to Austin to testify. Our voices were heard, and both Democrats and Republicans on the state board of education voted against the harmful curriculum.

Your conversations in your church, your discussions with people who believe differently than you, and your personal efforts to root out the ideology of Christian nationalism wherever you see it are creating awareness at a new level and driving people to take action.

The Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign is led by BJC (Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty), which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your receipt will be from BJC, but your funds will be designated for the Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign.
